He was born in a poor peasant family on the Loess Plateau. He began to learn painting in 2006 and developed a strong interest in painting. Since then, he has begun to teach himself to paint. In 2009, he gave up the national college entrance examination that determined his fate and resolutely devoted himself to his own artistic creation practice. He believes that the best teacher is nature. He has been committed to the exploration and innovation of paper painting language, using brushes, ink, oil pastels, markers, etc. to create works with contemporary spirit on traditional rice paper or cardboard. In 2018, his work was shortlisted for the 9th China New Star Art Award, and in 2020, his work was shortlisted for the John Moore Painting Award (China). He focuses on the complex and changeable relationship between individuals and society, and is committed to expressing the various contradictions and conflicts of individuals in today's society, and expressing the various struggles and pains of small individuals in the torrent of the times. In his opinion, an artist’s only opponent is himself, and only by constantly breaking through himself can new things be created.
